decor

lets talk walls.

this house has them. lots of them. and they are pretty dang bare. i have never been an art collector. its something that i wish i was, but i just could never commit to it. art is expensive, and well worth it, but still expensive. on top of that, it is something that i feel should be meaningful to you. its definitely an investment. so here i am, 27 years old, and i think i only own 3 framed pieces of art, and i bought them at t.j. maxx, and i dont even know who the artist is. i think he is canadian.

moving on with the story... while wasting hours upon hours stalking some of my favorite bloggers and scoping out some of my favorite sites i noticed a trend. ECLECTIC WALL ART GALLERIES. i am in love.

like this:

actually this whole this whole site is awesome. www.decorpad.com

so we are trying to do something similar to this. we have been collecting frames from value village and other thrift stores. i have spray painted some black and hand painted others the living room accent colors.

we took pages from my old bridal magazines and made them the same sizes as the frames. then we stuck them up on the wall in the arrangement that we thought looked best. so now our wall looks like this:

next is to fill these frames up and get them hung. too bad that is the difficult part. 16 frames to fill, no clue what to fill them with. bring on the brainstorming.

in the beginning...

i am starting a blog for two reasons:

1.) my parents recently moved to AZ for the winter and i want to keep them updated with all of our home improvements.
2.) because i am proud of all our home improvements.

so here we go...

my husband, will, and i bought a house in north spokane last july. i bought it from my step brother who bought it from my step dad who bought it from someone who is not in our family. both my step dad and step bro are like super fix-it-upper people and are amazing and talented, which is great! us... not so much. so, welcome! and enjoy the entertainment of us trying to make this already marvelous house into our home!
