decor

lets talk walls.

this house has them. lots of them. and they are pretty dang bare. i have never been an art collector. its something that i wish i was, but i just could never commit to it. art is expensive, and well worth it, but still expensive. on top of that, it is something that i feel should be meaningful to you. its definitely an investment. so here i am, 27 years old, and i think i only own 3 framed pieces of art, and i bought them at t.j. maxx, and i dont even know who the artist is. i think he is canadian.

moving on with the story... while wasting hours upon hours stalking some of my favorite bloggers and scoping out some of my favorite sites i noticed a trend. ECLECTIC WALL ART GALLERIES. i am in love.

like this:

actually this whole this whole site is awesome. www.decorpad.com

so we are trying to do something similar to this. we have been collecting frames from value village and other thrift stores. i have spray painted some black and hand painted others the living room accent colors.

we took pages from my old bridal magazines and made them the same sizes as the frames. then we stuck them up on the wall in the arrangement that we thought looked best. so now our wall looks like this:

next is to fill these frames up and get them hung. too bad that is the difficult part. 16 frames to fill, no clue what to fill them with. bring on the brainstorming.

  1. LOVE IT! you could stick with a theme for filling the frames. like flowers, or cities, or eyes and then find different types of illustrations, photographs prints to fill them with relating to the theme? just an idea! i recommend old books/magazines at thrift stores. they are cheap and usually dumb, so tearing out a page that has a cool photo on it isn't a big deal.
